xS-XF: Geocoding with rooftop coordinates

Post by Bernd Welter »

Here's a little screenshot of a preview I showed during yesterdays FIT FOR PROFIT. Thanks to DEV!

The upcoming approach of geocoding will enable us to provide much better detail levels on so-called address points:
Feedback: welcome!

Much more detailed than in the past... new data quality enables us to distinguish between house number appendices (14a) and furthermore the hits contains coordinates at the street and at the houses rooftop. Isn't that cool?

yes, there we go. I made some tests with the sample service and after that I've been told that the data is already quite good but the engine development is still in progress and requires some enhancements such as
- proper dealing with abbreviations (Germany: "STR." instead of "STRASSE")
- dealing with missing pieces
and this is about to come. So do not wonder if you miss something at the moment: we will be able to find it later ;-)
