New subforum available: PTV xServer extended functionalities

Post by Bernd Welter »

Hi there,

today we opened one of our hidden forums to the public:
PTV xServer extended functionalities is now available at http://xserver.ptvgroup.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=44

The next Generation of PTV xServer is available. In this forum you will find the newest information about the current state of the new PTV xServer. Furthermore you will find information about the framework, API design, the newest features and you have the possibility to give us feedback about the current version.

Feel free to join this new resource that is ready for discussions about the new geographic features we will provide in a few weeks. The beta is available from outside PTV, onPremise has to wait until mid of october.

My personal favourites among the new features are:
  • address point geocoding: based on improved data (so-called address points provided by TOMTOM including street points and rooftop coordinates) we will be able to geolocate your addresses much better than in the past. We started with data dealing with DE, CH, AT, IT, LU, further countries are in the queue
  • new routing mechanisms: we offer new strategies of how to link coordinates to the street network, e.g. based on the rooftop coordinates
  • rest API for mapping and stable rendering: lot of open source frameworks enable you to integrate mapping interfaces with less efforts than xMap 1. The new approaches offer REST api which simplifies access in web development.
Feedback is always welcome,
Best regards
Bernd

PS: release is scheduled for oct. 14th, 2016
