Maneuver localized text problem

Post by kecskemetib »

Dear Forum Members,

While using xRoute Server 1.18.0.0, I have come across a few strange maneuver texts, eg:

calculateRoute(47.424168, 19.159788 --> 47.45775, 18.983291):

links abbiegen
rechts halten
links abbiegen auf Október 23-a utca
an der Anschlußstelle Balatoni ?t/Buda?rsi ?t/Menyecske utca/Neszm?lyi auffahren auf M1/M7

It looks like a few local street names are garbled, however, others are not. The same local characters are turned to ? in some names, but come through correctly in others (eg. "Nagy?r?si" vs. "Nagykőrösi", or "?t" vs, "út").

Is this a map data problem (we use the navteq 2014 1N map), or a WCF related problem? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,
Balázs

Hello Balazs,

I forwarded this issue to our developers. From my point of view this is not a WCF problem. The XML document itself seems to return garbled strings. With such input the user interface based on WCF can't produce proper output...

Let's wait for the developer's response!

Hello Balazs,

I just spoke to the xserver developer team leader. The topic is reproduced and seems to be located in the data level, not in the engine. Currently we are checking the data preparation process. Maybe we have to provide a patch for the map data.

Sorry for the unconvenience,

Bernd
