xServer2: Localization of streets

Post by Wilhelm »

Hello,
When I ask for the location of a street (without a house number or with a not existing house number) in the xLocate of the xServer2, I always receive the position of the building with the lowest house number.
Is there a possibility to receive the "center" of the street like in xServer1?

Hello Daniel,

the concept of xLocate2 does not provide "controlling parameters" (at the moment). So from my perspective the only potential approach I can recommend is to analyze the servers response / it's quality properties.
If they do not match send a second request without the house number. This one is supposed to return the street itself.

Best regards,
Bernd

PS: I'll forward your topic to DEV ;-)

Hello Bernd,
Thanks for your response. But my first experiences are that even the requests without a house number return the location of the first building. Or is there a special request to ask for a street?
Best regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel

This is absolutly correct. Currently the reference point of a street segment is the lowest house number in most cases the number 1 ;) If this should be changed we have to discuss this with the Product Management.
