Usecase demo - overnight planning

Post by Bernd Welter »

Hello together,

let me just blog a little sample for our overnight planning. It demonstrates the capabilities of the parameters
  • costPerOvernightStay
  • costPerUnplannedCustomer
  • maximumNumberOfAllowedOvernightStays
  • overnightStayPattern
The screenshots enable you to capture the costPerOvernigthStay parameter. The core scenario is dedicated to a set of 25 customers spread over NL with a 2 hours timeslot for each one of them. A sales rep is expected to visit some of those customers within one working week (07:00 - 17:00) and - depending on
  • the geographic situation
  • the price for the hotel
the xTour decides whether it is cheaper to drive back home or to spend a night in the customers region (or on the way).

Here is the output (map + time)

1. very cheap hotel ( 50€ / night ): The sales rep can stay in a hotel every night
checp hotel price 50€ - overnight stays every weekday
checp hotel price 50€ - overnight stays every weekday
2. very expensive hotel prices ( 150€ / night ): it's worth driving back home to save money every night
expensive hotel prizes - no overnight stays
expensive hotel prizes - no overnight stays
3. medium price range ( 75€ / night ): some customers (Amsterdam) to be visited are so close to the home base that it's worth driving back home after being there while others are that far away (near Groningen) that taking a hotel for one night is cheaper than driving back home.
medium hotel prize (75€) - some overnight stays but not whole week
medium hotel prize (75€) - some overnight stays but not whole week
Let me know what you think about this functionality ;-)

Best regards Bernd
