This forum deals with any kind of routing computation whether it is simple A:B-routing, calculation of isochrones, simple matrix computation or nearest search.

XS1 to xS2: break- and restrules

Post by Bernd Welter »

Here's a little overview of the differences between xRoute 1 and xRoute 2 when it comes to break and restrules
  • xServer1 enables you to parametrize the maximum driving times and breaks for a driver. In xRoute 2 you can only activate a rule which then contains the definition of the max values
  • xServer1 does not offer to parametrize the drivers working history - this is a new important feature in xRoute 2. Check the technical concept of the working hours
  • Multimanning: was simulated in xRoute via parametrizing of the max values (check this post). As of today this is not possible in xRoute2/xTour2 so far but this can be a future feature.
  • xRoute 1 does not support combonation of break and rest rules with dynamic routing. This is possible in xRoute 2. Check this post.
  • If you want to use the topic for ETA calculation I recommend to evaluate PTV Drive&Arrive which offers a dedicated method:create an OBUTacho event for ETA tracking including rest and service times additionally.

Hi Bernd,

is there an update on multi-manning on the xServer2?

Best regards,
Leo

Hello Leo,

unfortunately: no... I spoke with Frank (DEV) about this in the context of another project but there are no news.

Sorry for that negative feedback... I'll forward your request to him.

Best regards,
Bernd

Hi Leo,

I've been asked by another player about this topic and Frank returned to me with the following info (translated):
We will prepare an update of the xServer2 roadmap in Q1/2021 - this will also consider the planning of the item "multi manning". According to the current road map I can't give you a date.
So please stay patient,

Bernd

Quick update...

With version 2.26 we invented the experimental feature
com.ptvgroup.xserver.tourplanning.ConfigurableWorkingHoursPreset

With this parameter you can choose of several given scenarios - one of them is the
EU_DRIVING_TIME_REGULATION_FOR_TEAM_AND_MULTIPLE_DAYS :
When two drivers form a team, they can take turns. In contrast to EU_DRIVING_TIME_REGULATION_FOR_MULTIPLE_DAYS, no breaks are scheduled and the daily rest time limits are raised. See technical concept page for details. Not supported for time-dependent driving times.
This enumeration value is experimental. Before using it, make sure you understand the implications of Experimental features.
 This does not treat two individual driver histories!
:!: This feature will be released officially with the upcoming v2.27
