Custom client libraries as open source?

Hi there,
these days I was asked whether a partner is allowed to provide his self-created client libraries as open source (MIT license through GIT HUB).
Well - here's our product managements response:

- feel free to prodive it - it is at your responsibility
- PTV will not provide any support for this
