Hello PTV-Team,

is it possible to include dangerous goods in the routing calculations?

If there is the possibility, how can we do that?

Thanks in advance.

Hi ho,

though it is possible to describe the requirement in just one sentence it is covering a very large scope within the PTV software suite. We offer different mechanisms that enable our xPlayers to consider the physical and legal restrictions of trucks within the routing process.

We offer

  • Static data such as TruckAttributes (binary file) and even time-dependent data (feature layer PTV_TruckAttributes)
  • Tools such as Map&Guide Road Editor which enable customers to maintain the segment attributes on their own.
  • Attention: the RoadEditor application will phase out and therefore we will replace this approved technology (euphemism for "kind a oldschool") with our state-of-the-art container called FeatureLayer.
As this topic is so complex we recommend to get in touch with your local consulting team to exchange

  • your requirements
  • our solutions
Please be aware that we can't just discuss such detailed and individual know how transfer via the forum. Once the basics have been exchanged we might add some discussions here.

Best regards,
Bernd
