How to use xLoad2 to handle palettes instead of dimension?

Hello Frank,
These days I was in touch with a prospect who is looking for a loading space optimization component. While the design of xLoad focusses on (metric?) dimensions the prospect wants to handle palettes on a grid.
Does it make sense to model this with a standard 2 dimensional grid (e.g. of "3x11") or is there a risk of poor planning?
Any recommendations or comments to be considered?
