Plan nearest Orders first

Hi,
we are facing an issue with our customer.
The issues belong to two areas of orders. In Area A we have to most visits, and some in Area B.
Our customer wants 12 Visits each day, but on same days the tour drives from area A to area B and doesn't have the 12 visits.
But we have unplanned visits in Area A, so it should be possible to plan the 12 visits.

Is there a way to force the xTour to plan visits next to each other? To reduce the maximum distance to next visit?
In case it's needed we can provide Request.
We know there is a way with start depot, but Customer doesn't want to use it.

Kind regards,
Paul

Hi,

thanks, we are aware of the depot solution.
What confuse us is, that the route starts in Area A and there are more visits available in Area A. Why xTour decides to create such a long tour instead of a more optimal route. All Visits have the same priority, so this can't be the reason.

Why xTour plans visits that are far away instead of visits that are near to the first visit?

Kind regards,
Paul

The start of the route has no relation to the first order xTour plans in. Most likely it started with an order in area B and kept adding orders to the trip as optimal as possible. Keep in mind that order do not hat to added at the end of a trip during build up, they also can be added at the beginning of a trip or depending on your setting somewhere in between.
Why xTour plans visits that are far away instead of visits that are near to the first visit?
In most cases it gives more compact trips is we start with the farthest instead of the nearest.

Hi,

thanks for the reply. We were able to solve our problem, using an additional planning step and reorganize the priority of the visits.

Kind regards,
Paul
