Malus in BCR-Routings

Post by Lauterfeld »

Hi all,

we produce a BCR-File for guided navigation out of xRoute 1.x.
Our routing profile in xRoute is configured as delivery truck with malus=0:

<Routing majorVersion="2" minorVersion="0">
<Course>
<BasicDataRules>
<VehicleSpecific>
<DeliveryVehicles segmentMalus="0"/>
</VehicleSpecific>
</BasicDataRules>
</Course>
<Vehicle>
<Legal>
<LegalCondition isAuthorized="true" isDelivery="true"/>
</Legal>
</Vehicle>
</Routing>

Defaultmalus of PTV is 2.500 I think. And also the guided navigation works probably with 2.500? Is it possible to configure the guided navigation with malus=0 to avoid detours on routes with 'free for delivery'-trucks?

Regards,
Volker

Hello Volker,

I'll forward this topic to Christa and her Navigator colleagues.
Please be aware that those players might not know the mechanisms of xServers in detail as they usually do not work with the developer components.

We'll see,

Best regards,

Hello Volker,

the basic idea of Guided Navigation is that you can set anything you want in your xServer-environment and that PTV Navigator does not have to know about these xServer-settings: All we need is the bcr-file with the waypoints that were the result of your specific route calculation.

Once you have the BCR-file, you load it to PTV Navigator, and in some cases the result might not be 100% as you planned it right away (for example because - per default - we avoid specific segments of the route and you may not have wanted to avoid those) we then have to talk about more advanced configuration of your routing settings in PTV Navigator - we have all the options you need to get the result you planned.

So: if you get different results in PTV Navigator, I´d suggest you send a ticket to our support department and then we´ll evaluate your specific example. For us to be able to best help you, please include:
- screenshot of the route you planned in xServer
- screenshot of the route PTV Navigator gives you
- version info for PTV Navigator: what map version and software version did you use?
- BCR-file that you used for route calculation.

Does this answer help you?

Kind regards and all the best for 2019,
Christa

Let me add my mustard ;-)

We will also return a BCR string in xServer2 - if needed.
Check the guidedNavigationRoute property of the result fields.
